However, with the resurgence of the FC2 mod scene, I think these are no longer relevant from a player's perspective. It's important to acknowledge and give respect to the OG mods like Dylan's (simple, but early and important), Real Mode (Very important, FC 2.5 is built off this), Jackal (Lots of great info, especially map stuff and hex edits), and Infamous Fusion (I built Redux as a response to what I liked, and really disliked about IF). I'm obviously biased for Redux, but the focus on immersion and navigation might not be right for everyone. If you want an improved vanilla experience with stealth machete takedowns (something Redux isn't doing) and more, this is the way to go. Many different versions, from extreme and silly, to relaxed and casual. Tom's Vanilla+ series is also definitely worth checking out. It's very impressive, especially under the hood. It's the least stable, and there are some wacky creative decisions, but it is by far the least vanilla experience, while still being playable. However, if you're looking for something that really shakes things up, FC 2.5 is worth checking out. There's only one MOTY winner, and you're playing it!
